ADFFS 2.86 public beta
Re: ADFFS 2.86 public beta
After high score entry I get dark red shortly followed by magenta. Tested on Mazey Man.
Re: ADFFS 2.86 public beta
Thanks, it does sound like it probably failed to allocate RMA then. I'll tweak the border colours to confirm and come back shortly.
Re: ADFFS 2.86 public beta
Repeat with the attached and let me know the colour.wmd wrote: Thu Jan 30, 2025 After high score entry I get dark red shortly followed by magenta. Tested on Mazey Man.
Colour sequence is: Dark green, Dark red, Red, Orange, Yellow, White, Magenta, Blue, Cyan, Bright green
Re: ADFFS 2.86 public beta
Border goes to orange a few seconds after entering high score.
Re: ADFFS 2.86 public beta
Oh...that's an error opening the JFD as read/write.
Two possible reasons:
- The JFD is locked or read only
- The JFD wasn't mounted using a full path
EDIT: If you're running it via a !App, try manually mounting the JFD and selecting Boot Floppy from the ADFFS Filer menu to see if it works
Re: ADFFS 2.86 public beta
My JFD is definitely not set to read-only - there's nothing in the Write protected box in the "About this floppy image" dialogue. Also, I am booting using a !Run file that only has ADFBootFloppy F1001801 in it.

Try manually mounting the JFD and selecting Boot Floppy from the ADFFS Filer menu to see if it behaves differently.wmd wrote: Thu Jan 30, 2025 I am booting using a !Run file that only has ADFBootFloppy F1001801 in it.
Re: ADFFS 2.86 public beta
Using the Boot floppy option and after entering a high score the border turns light green and rebooting the game shows that the high score saving is now working.
Re: ADFFS 2.86 public beta
Good. I know how to resolve it then, so will fix in the next full update.wmd wrote: Thu Jan 30, 2025 Using the Boot floppy option and after entering a high score the border turns light green and rebooting the game shows that the high score saving is now working.
Re: ADFFS 2.86 public beta
Great, I will look forward to that then!
