SO I have around 100ish A3010 disks I THINK are working...

Post by yogyog »

Rob Coleman managed to get a never released game I created recovered and emailed to me, but there's loads there - original games, original music, graphics, several quality PD games - some I remember

Space Paint by Sam Barry Age 9 (a actually really good painting program)
Splodge really good puzzle Platformer
Tools for converting and combining samples
Tracker software
Software for converting and resampling images between modes

Judging from a quick test approx 80% of the disks are still readable.

Would anyone be interested in recovering this or helping me to do so?

It might be worth asking on Stardot as although this forum in centred around software preservation, not many folk visit here. State where you're based, local folk are more likely to help out.

found a copy of the coverdisk (archimedes world dec 1995 disc 2) and managed to dump it;

https://drive.google.com/file/d/18NJ8it ... sp=sharing

!arcfs was corrupt so put a fresh copy on a fresh image. also has a tetris style pd game called marblocks and some utilities. everything is public domain afaics.

Thank you! Actually not a bad little game. Reminds me a lot of Putty on the Amiga. Word of warning though - that version of ArcFS came up as being infected with a virus on a real Arc.

I remember the Archimedes World disk with MicroDrive had a virus (Feb 1992). And I think it was an Acorn Computing cover disk that had the infamous Icon virus.

If you are able to sanitize the disk of viruses I would love a copy of it as it's not on ArcArc.
