I have the Krisalis Champions version of Jahangir Squash and am hitting a problem trying to do anything on the menu screen if I use Boot Floppy. The mouse is flickering but you cannot move it and the keyboard or joystick does nothing on the menu screen.
I am using a physical A3010 and I do have a joystick plugged in port 1.

I see there is a fix to RMKill USBJoystick to resolve this in ADFFS, but being this is on a physical machine, this module does not exist.

If I run the game from its icon the joystick works and I can move around the screen, this only happens when using Boot Floppy

Any ideas?

That's odd as I recently modified the game's boot script to correct it's Joystick detection. Are you using ADFFS 2.85?

Off the top of my head, I think it replaces Joystick with a bugged version of JoyMod when you run it directly. Where ADFFS uses a newer version of JoyMod for wider Joystick support, ADFFS has to patch the game to match the bugfix in the updated JoyMod Module.

Try updating obey.zip

Yeah I am using ADFFS 2.85 with the latest obey.zip from 20th Jan.
I just tried copying over the obey.zip again and was the same issue. You can press return to skip to the menu, and then nothing works including the joystick, whereas if I run Squash from the imaged disk without boot floppy the joystick works fine and I can play the game.

I'll test locally and check I've not introduced a new issue

I corrected the Intro Joystick detection, but forgot to correct the main game. Please try today's obey.zip

Unfortunately the same thing Jon - the joystick just does not work at all when using boot floppy

And can you skip the Intro with the Joystick?

The first screen comes up with the Krisalis software presents etc. I can then press enter here, but cant use joystick to skip.
On the second page where you select the language or game type, the keyboard works (once I figured out it is tab for fire), just the joystick doesn't work.

In that case, I suspect there's an issue with JoyMod when used on an A3010. I'll take a look at the source and try to figure out where it's failing.

EDIT: Having now compared the Champions version of JKS with the original release, I've realised it has a different Joystick Module specifically modified for the A3010.
