I have noticed an odd issue with Simon The sorcerer when using the replacement script when it is installed.
It takes a very long time for the text to dissapear, if at all causing delays and making it quite hard to navigate.
For example when you start the game if you open drawer, it says Oh Look. There's a pair of scissors in here. That text does not disspear from the screen, even after you pick them up. Other text notifications seem to take an absolute age to move on to the next line.
I tested with the original run file and entered the copy protection details and this problem does not occur.
I have only tested this so far on a physical A3010 using the latest ADFFS Beta 2.86.
Simon The Sorcerer Script
Re: Simon The Sorcerer Script
I'm seeing the same issue on a Pi3, so will investigate.
Re: Simon The Sorcerer Script
It looks like the protection check does some additional setup. Until I can figure out where that code is, I'll reinstate the protection check and see if I can tweak it to always pass.
Re: Simon The Sorcerer Script
Please try today's Boot scripts. I've modified the protection to auto-complete, switched it to use QTM for the tracker as I noticed the music pitch was changing depending on what it was run on and I've applied all the bug fixes back to RO3.1x.
I've not figured out how to remove the pauses during the game start-up, so you'll see a blank screen for a few seconds prior the protection kicking in.
Re: Simon The Sorcerer Script
Cheers Jon,
That seems to have sorted it and yep I hadnt noticed the music was wrong originally, but sounds better now.
Thanks

Re: Simon The Sorcerer Script
Actually there are still some issues as I get further into the game, for example in the bar, talking to the barman, or if I pick up the matches, I do not get the option to use it with another item
Re: Simon The Sorcerer Script
I'll reinstate the protection.
