I personally wouldn't install any ROM other than from the official source. You have no idea what settings it was compiled with, or if it's been tweaked, let alone what date of source it was based on.
RISCOS is actively developed and changes daily and the reason ADFFS specifies a minimum date in the requirements is due to bugs being fixed, that the project has highlighted within the OS.

I've no idea which ROM you're referring too. If it boots to a desktop, its okay.

To compile the RISCOS ROM for a particular machine, you have to set various compiler setting and variables to the correct values.

David,
I wouldn't use that ROM. You don't know how old it is, or even what it is.
Get the daily beta ROM from the official source:
https://www.riscosopen.org/zipfiles/pla ... 1488789833
Open up the zip and you will see a ROM image file to copy to your DOS partition (!Boot.Loader) and the ZeroPain utility to copy to !Boot.Choices.Boot.PreDesk. Also get the beta HardDisc4 and merge it over your current !Boot.

Thanks for your help but when I copy the !boot over my !boot it messes up the !boot.loader and ROM stuff etc
Re: ADFFS 2.41 on the Pi 2 running RiscOS 5.21 help needed please
You are using the "Nightly Beta HardDisc4" ZIP and simply copying the contents to the root of your SD, overwriting your existing !Boot etc?HeathHayle wrote:Thanks for your help but when I copy the !boot over my !boot it messes up the !boot.loader and ROM stuff etc
The nightly doesn't contain the Loader folder, so won't alter !Boot.Loader or any of its contents. Provided you don't try to rename you're existing !Boot, it should work.
