Anymode on Pi with v2.72 of ADFFS

Post by yannos »

I recently installed ADFFS on a Pi with RISC OS 5.24. I see Anymode hasn't been mentioned on the Pi installation instructions since v2.64. However without it when I ran a game (Nevryon) I had 4 identical screens. Installing Anymode seemed to cure that. Is it correct that Anymode isn't required?

Thanks

AnyMode shouldn't be required provided the Pi requirements are met:
RISC OS 5.27 Nov 16th 2018 or newer
I'll double check Nevryon, just to be sure.

Nevyron works without AnyMode, tested on the 5.27 26th Feb 2019. I believe I tested ADFFS 2.72 on older OS builds and found issues with video, as ADFFS was heavily modified to match changes to the mode change process in the OS.

The requirement for AnyMode was removed when a full GraphicsV driver was added to ADFFS, so what you're seeing may be a side effect of the changes made for the OS mode change process changes.
