I've not looked at supporting HFE as a standard hasn't been defined yet. My understanding is that its a flux image, similar to IPF, which once converted to a bitstream could be fed into ADFFS' 1772 emulator as its loaded, in the same way APD images are read.

You're better off using HFE images with the Gotek, unless you're planning on taking the images across to a modern RISC OS machine, such as a Pi.

I'm still not sure why you couldn't image disc 1, as on paper it should "just work" using the ADFFS JFD imager.

Thanks Jon. Yes I'm putting this down to some oddity with the Floppy Drive on this A3020. I tried using the GreaseWeazle with both the A3020 Floppy (Citizen, I think), and the Amiga 1200 Floppy. Only the Amiga 1200 drive imaged outputs seemed to work correctly which makes me think it's the drive.

I'll maybe take it apart and give it a clean. Check and maybe re-grease the axels and the shaft mechanism a bit. Or look for a replacement drive.

@Jon: I woul LOVE to take a look at ST3000 TNG. I can't find a single image or video of that version!
Did you get permission to release that version in the end? If you got a 32bit version, does it work on the Pi natively or using ADFFS?

The APDL pages are down, so currently the only way to get the TNG version seems from archive.org, on Riscworld Vol 8.
I will download that and use the script you published here to load it:
https://stardot.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?p=299915

..but maybe there's a better way?

I've no idea who owns the rights to the TNG version so don't know who to ask for permission.

SF3000 TNG is 32 bit compatible, but it contains some instructions that have since been deprecated post ARMv5. My script (F1070501 in !ADFFS.obey) corrects those instructions to get it running natively - it doesn't need ADFFS for the code, but might need it for legacy MODE support.

@Jon: Thanks! I will try the F1070501 in !ADFFS.obey script to boot the game from Riscworld Vol 8.

BTW, the SF3000 file on the Riscworld Vol 8 issue 6, do you know what filetype is it supposed to have?
I have it on an ISO image, and I can't extract it without losing the filetype information.

X-File. Run !RISCWorld.Utilities.!XFiles to open it

Ah, great... And how do I copy !RISCWorld.Utilities.!XFiles from the ISO to Risc OS without mssing with the file types too? Can Risc OS open .ISO files somehow?

Ah! Answering myself here. Seems CDFaker is the way to go! Hadn't used it for a couple of years!

I’d advise using the latest version via PackMan, or download it manually from this site

Yes, of course, how else would I get one of your programs but downloading it from the official forum I have been visiting for almost a decade now? 8-)

@Ron: Got SF3000TNG running with the F1070501 script in !ADFFS.obey.
The game needs the "anymode" module loaded to run, and has flickering during gameplay, framerate is also very slow.
Any other advice you can give to correct the flickering at least?
Having a key or key combo to quit the game without having to reboot the system by force would be good too :D
