@Jon:
I ran the non-overlay version and indeed those problems don't happen at all: I can run whatever I want several times without rebooting and there are no problems.
So there's some small thing wrong with the overlay stuff not being properly freed when quitting a game, I gues...

Re: ADFFS integer scaling?
It should be achievable by using a monitor resolution that's a multiple of 320x256, so 1280x1024 for example. That's obviously only going to work with standard modes, games with bespoke resolutions would not be performing integer scaling. What I meant is that maybe ADFFS could do integer scaling, n...

Re: ADFFS 2.84 public beta
@Jon: I was testing the latest build in the OP, and Fireball II hangs if it's run a second time without rebooting.
Same if it's run after Lemmings, for example.

ADFFS integer scaling?
I have asked in the Raspberry Pi forums too, but just in case you know something about the matter: Is it possible to somehow achieve integer scaling with ADFFS? Using scaling_kernel = 8 without integer scaling causes shimmering in scrolling games (expected: nearest neighbour + non-integer results in...

Re: ADFFS 2.84 public beta
I didn't even know there was a version of Gianas for the Archimedes. What a curious case! In fact, I see it doesn't have any sound.

Re: ADFFS 2.84 public beta
@Jon: With today's build, Hero Quest is broken.
It shows a message asking about original disk, then if you click "Cancel" it hangs on the picture of the city after the initial text sequence.

Re: ADFFS 2.84 public beta
I just wish I didn't have to make so many compromises for overlays. One being re-introducing micro-stutter - have you noticed it much? I am totally sure there are no hiccups if 1080p at 50Hz is used. Totally sure as in "I've been looking at smooth-scrollers for many minutes each, without notic...

Re: ADFFS 2.84 public beta
@Jon
Palette an scaling problems seem to be gone now, at least on the games I tested! Lemmings and Flashback look great again, and Alone in the Dark, GODS, etc... look perfectly centered!
How far has 2.84 came these last weeks thanks to your work!!

Re: ADFFS 2.84 public beta
@Jon: Ah, yes, this strange palette thing started with 2.84 BETA, so the VIDC1 and GraphicsV palette gamma correction makes perfect sense. Hmm.. Maybe it could be possible to disable that optionally? Games looked way better before. And from what you say, they needed manual adjustment on the Arc... J...
