Re: writing archimede floppy image to kryoxflux

Hello - (he says months later) - can take an archimedes disk image, and use the HxC Floppy Emulator software to convert it to a kryoflux stream, then use the kryoflux to write that, but your mileage may vary...

Re: Populous (1992) (Krisalis Software)

Just tried this on my SA RiscPC, RiscOS 3.71, !adffs 2.20. I get "File 'GOARM3JIT' not found" press space etc... Clicking or pressing space, the music starts but I'm returned to the desktop with apparently nothing running other than what was before...!

Re: ADFFS 2.43 beta

Okay, ignore me, it was a hosed Uniboot (goodness knows what exactly), but must have been something I did when installing the Acorn Level4 FS on that machine.

Re: ADFFS 2.43 beta

Ergh.... On my A3020 I'm getting an "Abort on data transfer at &01927934" when I tried to load a disc image. Went all the way back to 2.09 and I'm now getting the same thing with that. Even with a Shift-boot to bypass !Boot. AcornURI and BorderUtils seem to be getting loaded from somew...

Re: kryo2apd

Ok, there's no FM data, but there are *lots* of FM sector markers with invalid CRCs... I think these are mostly just artefacts in the data when it's read as FM, not anything valid. Without decoding the MFM data myself I can't tell if it's the write splicing that's causing the problem, but I suspect ...

Re: kryo2apd

The two issues with this disc set are: 1. FM on disc 1 is causing a crash 2. MFM on every other track is corrupt, with or without "-f" Are you saying that issue 2 is caused by write-splice issues? I think issue 2 could be, but I can't tell as I don't have the analysis code adjusted to dea...

Re: kryo2apd

OK, this is probably non-trivial as I don't have the code written to look in any detail at MFM tracks - it's been on my todo list, but impending baby and decorating have kicked that into low earth orbit. My gut feeling is it's the write-splice issue raising its head again unless that's been fixed?

Re: Changes to Stream capture in 2.20

So I'm not aware of anything having changed substantially. Format guided tries to use a known format to verify that it's capturing properly where possible, but it will still dump everything (even if it can't validate against the known format). If you never specified a format when capturing I don't t...
