Re: Pandora’s Box and Black Angel

I’ve checked and my version is 23-11-1992, which would explain it. The only difference between the two copies is in !RunImage2, other than that they appear to be identical down to the location of the files on the disk and the disc protection. Your image of disc 1 is missing the protection sectors a...

Re: Joystick support changes

ADFFS 2.74k beta has been uploaded for testing. Many Joystick changes such as adding DeadZone and Mouse support, damping is still work-in-progress. It now also writes any changes back to floppy images if they are either ADF or JFD with the Auto flush flag set. JFD's can time some time to save and as...

Re: Pandora’s Box and Black Angel

I’m not using a script to launch That's odd then as if you can swap between floppies within the game okay, it should be able to Flush as it already knows the path. A quick check would be to see if you can still switch floppies once you quit the game. It's also possible there was a bug that I've sub...

I'm glad you figured that out, as I would not have had a clue! Thank you for posting the solution.

Re: Pandora’s Box and Black Angel

I created a blank ADFS disc — I named the disc F1027403 — when I save within the game, I am able to ‘insert’ the blank disc and the game goes through the process of saving, but nothing is written to the disc. I have tried quitting the game and using flush but still nothing. Am I missing something? ...

Re: Imaging - Compression error (-2)

ZLib doesn't provide very useful error messages, but I'm guessing it couldn't allocate RMA space to perform the compression. From memory, I think it needs around 64KB of RMA free. I don't have anything installed on the machine so there's no nested wimp or whatever it is that is needed to populate th...

Re: Joystick support changes

Although the Alerion package has also been updated, it's currently crashing due to the Joystick checks; please ignore testing it until I come up with a fix. This is now resolved. It was a combination of bugs in the game itself, not only did it alter R13 in its IRQ handler, without disabling IRQ's, ...

Re: Suggestion: Editable "ID3" tags for disk images

If you image as JFD, you will see it already has metadata. You can view it under the Format sub menu of any mounted JFD.

I opted not to embed images as they would increase the size of the files too much.

Re: Not working with Arculator?

Try the attached. I've overcome the need to pre-allocate 2MB to the RMA, it now caps MemLimit and AppSpace.

It will appear to leak memory until the freepool is below 12MB, which is a side-effect of it taking RAM away from the OS. A reboot will be required to get it back when ADFFS is quit.

Re: Not working with Arculator?

Ian, do you want to give the attached a go. From the brief testing I've done, it works on a 16MB machine provided you don't quite out of Desktop. Quitting out of the Desktop is bad as the OS appears to internally modify all the DA's, without doing it via legal means  Whilst loaded, ADFFS will...
