Re: 4th Dimension games on Pi2

Also got Aldebaran working - under emulation (!ArchiEmu) as it uses WIMP mode This was working under RISC OS 5, see the ADFFS 2.71 OP as that details the state of each Wimp game. Wimp menus can sometimes hang, I believe the Wimp switches tasks without calling the filters, so UpCalls etc tend to loc...

Re: 4th Dimension games on Pi2

I got Flashback working. I have the version on 2 HD disks (F1053201), but needed to use the Obey file for the DD version in order to make it run. I've yet to see a copy of that version, so there's no boot script for it. Perhaps you'd consider eMailing the ADF/JFD to me so I can start work on it. Al...

Re: ADFFS on A5000

Have now tested Lotus Turbo Challenge on physical and although it didn't crash, it's doesn't work correctly on a modern monitor. The palette swap was obviously in the wrong place and the audio isn't correct when in a level. As the audio was wrong with both the original MusicMod and QTM/MusicMod shim...

Re: ADFFS on A5000

I've tested Populous, Lotus Turbo Challenge and E-Type under Red Squirrel with UniBoot2 ; Populous and E-Type worked without issue. Lotus Turbo Challenge does randomly crash and does the same thing with the latest system resources from ROOL. I also tested Lotus Turbo Challenge with ADFFS 2.64, with ...

Re: ADFFS on A5000

I had a lot of crashes involving ADFFS during the day. Is there a known incompatibility with any module I might have loaded (like the ones for the IDE, SCSI, Ethernet, nested WIMP, toolbox, SparkFS)? It looked like a "clean boot" without the whole UniBoot stuff before starting ADFFS made things a b...

Re: ADFFS 2.71 beta

Maybe you know it, but Elite hangs the system on quit via CTRL+SHIFT+F12. I've never tried forcibly terminating Elite as it has is own exit mechanism via F12. Wimp support is a total hack that is known to causes random locks, so I'd expect most if not all Wimp games to lock with CTRL-SHIFT-F12. The...

Re: ADFFS 2.71 beta

2.72k is available. Whilst looking into the palette issues I spotted a bug in the 26bit Module header check. This build will go to release over the weekend. I've updated the following packages to resolve minor issues: F1005601 Break 147 & Superpool (1991) (The Fourth Dimension) (palette issue and mi...

Re: ADFFS 2.71 beta

should we update to latest Risc OS ROM now? No need up change RISC OS ROM's, all the RISC OS "features" that have turned up whilst developing 2.71/2.72 have been long running issues and have workarounds implemented, for backward compatibility to RISC OS 3.x I'm going to roll back the ROM build toda...

Re: ADFFS 2.71 beta

I'm releasing 2.72 this weekend, after which I'll have very little time to do any further development for probably the rest of the year. Hence the rush to get as many issues resolved as possible. There's one last issue with 16 colour palettes, which seem to bleed through to 16m colour modes somehow....
