Pi2 + ADFFS
Hello all, So I'm writing this from RISC OS running very nicely on a Pi, a pleasant experience all told. What combination of factors do I need to run games, though, I wonder? -- The Pi in question is a Version 2 Model B+. I downloaded the Pi-ready RISC OS SD image, which tells me it's version 5.21, ...

Re: What games would you like released next?
I was in touch with Merlyn Kline (Minerva) a while ago. Maybe you could try contacting him: http://www.binary.co.uk/binary.html My brother has some fond memories of Thundermonk, and so we'd both like to see this released at some point -- as a very early Arc game, I seem to remember it had RISC OS 3...

Re: Trapping LDR's in page zero
Whilst testing this today, it's highlighted an interesting question - what to do about bugs in games? The second game I tested (Fire & Ice) tries to read from a variable it's yet to define and ends up reading from page zero. This is a problem because the JIT reports any read from a page zero ad...

Re: ADFFS under emulation
Have you tried Arculator? From what I remember, it was pretty good at emulating the older machines at a sensible speed. The issue I have with Arculator - well there's a couple. Let me run it and see. Well, for one, when I click 'capture mouse', the mouse handling becomes painfully slow and jerky. C...

Re: ADFFS under emulation
I did see this caveat and have tried to work around it without success. My approach was to create a large RAM disk, but I've now tried the others you suggest: again, all to no avail. I aim for about 7mb in Applications (free), because, well, why not. VA5000's not been available since 2004 or somethi...

Re: ADFFS under emulation
Hi Jon, Just the same problem with v2.47b I'm afraid. I'm testing against your Lemmings (1991) and Magic Pockets (1993) releases. Both behave identically with a crash on mount. I also get a crash when trying to create blank floppy images with the Format... menu option. Taking a cue from another thre...

ADFFS under emulation
Greetings all! I'm interested in running ADFFS under Archimedes emulation (e.g. ARM3 RISC OS 3.1,) on a Windows laptop. Is this a reasonable thing to do, or completely misguided? Are there any success stories? Because I'm finding some frustration. Firstly, there are several emulators available which...
