Re: Update on next release

I think the 'dev site' is restricted access and 'invite only'.

Sounds like Jon has been a busy bee with the recent bug fixes! And any new game releases are always interesting.

Re: YouTube videos

Was there ever an analogue joystick for the Archimedes? I believe there were, I couldn't name any of them though. If you ask over on StarDot, I'm sure someone will know which makes and interface you need to use them. There was a product called the 'Delta Cat' which plugged into the mouse port. Work...

Re: Update on next release

For what it is worth, I enjoy any sort of update on here, even if I don't follow it all. However it seems unreasonable to sound demanding when someone is dedicating their own time. I am in awe of your commitment, probably more so than the impressive technical achievements.

Re: Tontec 3.5" Pi Touch Screen driver

The tablet idea sounds fun, but how usable will an on-screen keyboard be? Surely a proper keyboard, mouse and perhaps joystick is essential for Arc gaming? I want to build a JASPP/Pi rig soon, and cannot decide on the parts. I quite fancy something portable that I can plug into a TV, perhaps built i...

Re: Pi 2 support

Ah, that makes sense, thanks.

I guess the Pi support is what could help get JASPP to a wider market. Messing about with 25 year old machines isn't for everyone!

Re: Pi 2 support

Silly question, but are the Beagle and panda systems also ARM v7? So the same applies to those? And iMX6?

I only ever used ADFFS on a Pi. I didn't realise that it would have issues on the other modern platforms.

Re: ADFFS under emulation

The cutting edge for Arculator is here (if you fancy compiling your own)
http://www.retrosoftware.co.uk/hg/arculator

There is also a work in progress fork which aims to run on Linux (Arculator is Windows-only)

Re: ADFFS under emulation

Have you tried Arculator? From what I remember, it was pretty good at emulating the older machines at a sensible speed.

Re: What games would you like released next?

Must admit, what I'm most looking forward to is a number of the games from 'The Fourth Dimension' and 'Eterna/Systeme'. I guess the relevant permissions there are somewhat more challenging?

Re: (Soon to be) New RISC OS Pi user with many questions

Hi jpolo, Don't worry about all the detail. Feel free to ask away, whatever you want. A new user? Fantastic - just what we need! I used RISC OS extensively many years ago, and I've had a bit of trouble getting back in the game with the Pi and JASPP. ArcEm (the Archimedes emulator) does indeed functi...
