Re: ADFFS 2.63 beta

Be aware there is an issue with Quark, the root cause is the code that sets the screen memory size at a MODE change. This probably affects other games as well, but I'm probably not going to have time to resolve this before the London Show. I'm also taking this site down for upgrades Friday (27th Oct...

Re: Need some help - RiscPC RiscOS 3.70

Whilst testing during the week, I noticed the video timing is out in Lemmings on a RiscPC. ADFFS uses EGA on VGA when run on a RiscPC, so anything that relies on vertical timing will be out. I believe Lemmings 2 has an environment variable to set the timing, which is missing in Lemmings. At some poi...

Re: ADFFS 2.41 on the Pi 2 running RiscOS 5.21 help needed please

Are there differences wrt alignment exception handling and deprecated instructions? Yes, there's a number of "implementation defined" instructions and some behavioural differences with instructions. For example, LDR R0,[R0],#0 may work on one chip but generate a fault on another. Other examples mig...

Re: ADFFS 2.63 beta

Power issues? I seem to recall they have different SD controllers, which may also be a factor.

Re: Resurrecting the original ArcVenture series

If you're going to the RISC OS London Show, I can image them for you there.

If you could PM me the contact details for Sherston, I'll have a conversation with them about releasing all their Archimedes titles.

Re: ADFFS 2.63 beta

New build up on the dev site, I found some fairly fatal bugs whilst testing on the Iyonix. There's still some lurking, as some games are still failing. @jon: try to move the mouse in circles, doing it on the main menu will do. What's the SD card you are using to store the CUE/BIN? Brand, class... I ...

Re: ADFFS 2.63 beta

I've play tested it for hours on a Pi3 with no noticeable mouse problems, I'll try Pi1 and Pi2 when I get around to building them for the London Show

Re: ADFFS 2.63 beta

However, it seems to have problems reading music: the cursor becomes very "sticky" when the SD card access light comes up. No way around it? (Keeping the great audioCD OST) We have SO much RAM on the Pi2/3 that almost all the CD could be in cache  As I warned you, I've yet to optimize the audi...

Re: ADFFS 2.63 beta

I've tracked this problem down, !65Host is attempting to directly write to the OS_Byte variable table. I'll probably botch it for the time being as its not going to be straight forward implementing a Page Zero read/write translation to the equivalent OS_Byte call. Updated Modules on the dev site wh...

Re: ADFFS 2.63 beta

@Jon: How can I find out the correct partition number? Is there a RISC OS console command to list partition numbers? Plug it into a PC and look in Windows Disk Manager or use a Linux equivalent, RISC OS doesn't understand partitions. There is an issue affecting Zalaga, but I believe that's specific...
