Re: USB Joystick on the Raspberry Pi?

The free version of HID doesn't support joysticks (it will always be grey). You need to pay for the full version. I tried to, but failed. To complicate things further, the Serial Port' JS interface also came with software to allow you to get the joysticks to emulate key or mouse input. This meant yo...

Re: USB Joystick on the Raspberry Pi?

Supposedly the USB HID utility will allow RISC OS to recognise them. I believe that it provides the Acorn Joystick SWIs, so the handful of games which supported the Acorn A3010 interface should just work. I tried to buy HID, but despite assurances, never received it. So I have not tried it myself. B...

Re: ADFFS 2.61 beta

I suspect the old guard were upset about Aemulor and/or Impression not working. :) I think the goal is high vector for the next stable release. The Pi 'release candidates' are really works in progress. There are further items to address before a Pi stable release. More seriously, it is a tough call....

David, I wouldn't use that ROM. You don't know how old it is, or even what it is. Get the daily beta ROM from the official source: https://www.riscosopen.org/zipfiles/platform/raspberry-pi/BCM2835Dev.5.23.zip?1488789833 Open up the zip and you will see a ROM image file to copy to your DOS partition ...

Re: ADFFS 2.60

Ah, OK, that makes total sense. I was wondering if it was an issue in RISC OS or ADFFS, but it's neither! I guess the same issues apply to the OMAP4/5, iMX6 and even IOMD machines to an extent. So a keen gamer would want an original Archimedes or a Pi. I suppose the only other solution is that someo...

Re: ADFFS 2.60

I have finally managed to get my Pi set up again. I gave ADFFS a quick blast with a Pi firmware and RISC OS ROM image set that are about a week old. Only hassle was the need to do the 'disable_mode_changes' hack. I am not quite sure if this is due to the new RISC OS GPU driving code being buggy or i...

Re: ADFFS 2.58 beta

Is there anything others (e.g. me!) can do to help? Do you need metadata files creating for PackMan? Specific games testing?

Re: Games requiring Kryoflux imaging

On a vaguely related point, I think Bubble Fair does something similar with printing 'pirated' on the screen. I bought it from a local shop when it was first released (1990?). I found that I was only given seven seconds to complete each level, and it said 'pirated' near the countdown clock. Being on...

Re: Show demo

I have been playing around with 2.55 on a Pi B+. Works well with the released games.

If you start with RC14, just update he Pi firmware, the boot sequence and the RISC OS ROM image to the latest possible, and you're away.

Re: Command Line Help

Getting stuff to autoboot in RISC OS is not specific to ADFFS. You need to set up ArculFS or create an hd4 file. Once you have that working, create a !Boot file which runs ADFFS. Configure RISC OS to boot from there and it will start automatically. Do you have ArculFS/HosrFS or an hd4 file? I think ...
