Hi, first post
We (ROUGOL) have a stand at next weekend's Recursion Computer Fair - http://www.recursioncomputerfair.co.uk/
I'd like to have a Pi setup with ADFFS so people can play some of the old games. I'm planning to use a Pi1 as I believe that has best compatibility. But what combination of RISC OS and ADFFS versions is best to use?
Obviously RC14 is the easiest one to setup! What's the last version of ADFFS that works with that?
I found this thread viewtopic.php?f=9&t=232 which shows how to setup the games to run easily from an applcation directory. I don't suppose anyone has already done this for the currently available games, or even created a Pi image with them preconfigured? (crosses fingers!)
Thanks,
Bryan.

Re: Show demo
RC14 with the London Show Build "should" work but some games may fail, it details the build of RISCOS you need in the requirements section when you download ADFFS. If you went with ADFFS 2.55 or newer, you'd have to run a RISCOS build from mid-Apr 2016 onward. Avoid 2.56 as games that palette swap aren't correct - it's corrected in 2.57, but that may not be out by next weekend as there's still some bugs to fix.helpful wrote:I'm planning to use a Pi1 as I believe that has best compatibility. Afraid not, I am planning to look at packaging ADFFS and all the games once 2.57 is out...not much use to you for next week though.helpful wrote:I don't suppose anyone has already done this for the currently available games, or even created a Pi image with them preconfigured? (crosses fingers!)
Re: Show demo
I have been playing around with 2.55 on a Pi B+. Works well with the released games.
If you start with RC14, just update he Pi firmware, the boot sequence and the RISC OS ROM image to the latest possible, and you're away.
